能说一口流利的英语着实让人羡慕哟!那么怎样练好口语呢?How to Practice Spoken English?Q: I really admire my deskmate Li Ming for his spoken English. He can speak English very well. Yesterday he got the first prize in our school English Speaking Competition. Can you give me some advice on how to practice my spoken English?
A: Speaking English fluently is really great. Here I have some tips on how to practice your spoken English. The first and the most important thing is to believe yourself. You should always be full of confidence, or you will never be able to improve your English. You should often encourage yourself, “Come on, don’t be afraid!” You should never lose heart and never give up. If you are afraid of losing face, you should think since we are students and we’re learning, there is no need to worry about anything. You must always be active in practice. There is no problem that your pronunciation and intonation can’t be as good as the native people, because we are Chinese, and we don’t have chances to live in foreign countries and talk with the people there all the time. But you must know that the main purpose to study English is to make ourselves understood and understand other people. You should believe that the native speakers concern about your ideas more than your pronunciation. They will encourage you. So if you are brave enough, you’ll certainly make a great progress in your spoken English learning. Don’t be shy or afraid! Just have a try. Note: confidence n. 信心encourage v. 鼓励 intonation n. 语调 native adj. 本地的,本国的 (改编自2007年甘肃兰州中考完形填空试题,题目系编者所加。) 第 页 责任编辑:yingyubao
