One day a mouse felt thirsty. He found a jar with a small mouth on a table. The mouse looked inside the jar (坛子) and found some milk in it. He jumped into the jar and started to drink. When he drunk up the milk, he couldn’t get out because his stomach became big. “Help! Help!” the mouse shouted. Just then a cat came along. When she heard the cry, she jumped onto the table and caught hold of (抓住)the jar. “Don’t move. You will be nice lunch for me.” The clever mouse wasn’t afraid at all. He said to the cat politely, “Would you please not roll (滚动) the jar?” “Why?” asked the cat. “I would get sick and die in a while,” said the mouse. The cat thought that she would like the cat die quickly. So she began to roll the jar. Suddenly the jar fell down onto the floor and broke into pieces. The little mouse ran away. When the cat jumped off the table and ran after him, the mouse had already gone into the hole in the wall.
