Mr Brown had a big apple tree in his garden. The tree beared a lot of apples on it. His neighbor, Mr Smith, had an apple tree, too, but his tree didn’t bear many apples.

One day, Mr Brown pointed to Mr Smith’s tree and laughed． “There aren’t many apples on your tree this year,” he says, “I’ve got a lot of fruit on mine．”

Later, A strong wind was blowing． Mr Brown’s tree fell to the ground.

Mr Brown was very angry. But Mr Smith laughed. “I haven’t got many apples on my tree,” he said, “but it is still standing.”
