The Love (关爱)

1. Liu Fang is a young girl. She lives in a small village far away from Hengyang (衡阳), Hunan. There are not many people there, but they live a simple and happy life.

2. But one day last winter something terrible happened, the electric wire (电线) was damaged(损坏) by the heavy snow. Worse still(更糟的是), it was very difficult for villagers to go out to get food and vegetables.

3. Liu Fang’s parents worked in Guangdong. Because of the bad weather, they could not come back home. Unluckily, Liu Fang’s grandma was ill at that time, so Liu Fang had to stay at home and looked after her.

4. Liu Fang was worried about her grandma, but she could do nothing about her grandma’s illness. Her classmate Wang Gang is her next-door. Knowing this, he said to Liu Fang, “Let me help you!”

5. Wang Gang and his mother hurried to Li Fang’s home. They brought some food and candles to them. It was very dark in Li Fang’s house. Wang Gang’s mother lit a candle and then let the old woman take some medicine (药).

6. Some time later, grandma felt better. Liu Fang and her grandma were very grateful to the neighborhood. And all of them felt very happy!
